Elegant NC Wedding: Ashley and David’s Sneak Peek

Congratulations to Ashley and David, who tied the knot this weekend in Kernersville, NC!

Ashley looked stunning in her modern wedding dress that had so many touches of elegance with  lace details.

Her bridesmaids were fantastic – and so much fun! We had a blast from the beginning of the day until the sparklers at the reception.

What a beautiful, elegant bride and groom. So very in love, and so very happy.

Their wedding reception was held at the Village Inn in Clemmons. The  first dance was a huge hit as it moved from traditional to non-traditional – and even included a little flat-footing! It was all topped off with a big dip.

 

When it was time to say goodnight, Ashley and David had fun with the exit – going through the line three different ways to make the most use of the sparklers.

I love the look on his face in this one! So happy!

Engagement Session: Biltmore Estate

The big day is finally here! Ashley and David are all set to tie the knot.

 

We love how in love they are – and so well matched. 

From the first moment we met with them, we knew it was a perfect match for us with wedding photography + an amazing couple = gorgeous wedding photographs!

 

We can’t wait for today! But, for now…we wanted to share some of their Biltmore Estate engagement photographs from our session in the Fall…

This tree provided the perfect backdrop for creative and more traditional images.

The gardens at Biltmore are beautiful year-round, but especially in the Fall.

High School Senior Portraits: Outdoor Rustic

Our high school seniors are graduating – go class of 2013! – and we’re sharing their sneak peeks to help them celebrate! We recently headed outdoors with M for her senior portrait session, and we love her rustic, outdoorsy images.

One of our favorite images of M, overlooking Hanging Rock in the distance.

She was just at home in the water, as she braved the chillier temperatures to photograph this artsy, funky image in the river.

I love the feeling that black and white brings to this image, as it brings out a moodier, more thoughtful feel – and accentuates the cascading waterfall in the background.

Her field images were so beautiful. We photographed her session barefoot – so choosing shoes for all her outfits was a breeze – no choice needed!

I saved my absolute favorite for last this time… I love this image of M in the old tobacco barn. The contrast of her floral print dress against the rustic nature of the barn just made for a perfect contrast.

High School Senior Portraits: Funky, Rustic Style

We love photographing high school senior portraits – and in this sneak peek, we’re sure you can tell why! G was so much fun to photograph. From her funky, eclectic style to her relaxed, genuine smile…we had a blast!

She really rocked her session, and I loved the boots she paired with her vintage-inspired dress.

 

This dreamy, grown-over field image is one of my favorites from the session.

She also photographs beautifully in black and white!

There’s something a little Kelly Clarkson about her look and style in these two images, and I love it. From the rustic edging of the barn, to the pattern and texture of her scarf…it’s one of my favorites from the session!

Last but not least, one more black and white with her cowboy boots!

Newborn Baby Portraits: Baby Girl K

Welcome to the world, baby K! 

What a little bitty sweet baby she is…

She just snoozed and snoozed, peacefully through her sleepy-baby part of the session.

I think it helped that she was at Grandma’s house, and both grandmas were there with us! There’s just something about a grandma’s comfort that snuggles a little one into sleepy mode.

She loved cuddling up into a little ball to snooze…and it probably didn’t hurt that she’d kept her parents up the night before the session!

What a sweet portrait of mom and her baby girl…

She calmed so quickly in her daddy’s arms…

I loved meeting this beautiful family. And yep, pacis are allowed for calming between images! Sometimes the outtakes are just as fun as the portraits!

Thank you, baby K, for letting me photograph the beginning of your sweet journey in this world!

I can already tell you have a lot of personality, spunk, and most importantly – love – in this world.

Adaumont Farm Wedding: Allie and Tyler Sneak Peek

Congratulations to Allie and Tyler, who just got hitched at Adaumont Farm in Trinity, NC!

What a beautiful wedding! The couple had so many perfect details, and happily ever after truly did start here!

From the horse-drawn carriage to Allie’s cowboy boots, the farm wedding was rustic but luxe, and so gorgeous!

3 Month Portraits: Baby L

Baby L is growing so fast! It seems like he moved from newborn to 3 months old in a jiffy. Isn’t that always the way?

His big brother, J, is still pretty excited about having him here … although sometimes it’s not quite clear if L is as sure about J!

Just check out that grin on J!

Baby L has quite a grin of his own – especially when Daddy is holding him. He loves his daddy!

Look at all that fuzzy hair!

There’s just nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby…happy 3 month birthday, Little L! We are excited about your 6 month portraits – which will be here before you know it!
