Sarah and Chris’ engagement session at Reynolda Gardens in Winston Salem was full of fields, flowers, and one very excited Rhodesian Ridgeback! At Simply Southern Photography, we love that our engagement sessions are lifestyle-oriented, and so I was more than excited when I heard Sarah’s ideas for their session.
She loved the idea of Reynolda Gardens, and when we talked about the field where they walk Mason, I knew that the waterfall and stone bridge in the background were perfect for their picnic in the park engagement session. With a few of her favorite books, their favorite foods, and one very favorite pooch, we set up a beautiful, romantic picnic that had a storybook style. That is, if Cinderella’s outfit included puppy pawprints and drool! Let’s just say that Mason was very excited about the pretzels and strawberries.
They did a wonderful job for their “family portrait” with Mason perking up those cute little ears!
We did one last round of fetch before letting Mason head home with the grandparents so that we could focus on Sarah and Chris.
I loved this tender portrait of Sarah on Chris’ lap as he touched her hair. There is so much kindness and love between these two!
And shooting through the yellow coneflowers in the fields at Reynolda Gardens was a beautiful vantage point for a whimsical yet romantic engagement picture.
One last one to sneak peek … Sarah’s hair flying in the wind adds the motion and emotion to the image that I love – the yellow pops of color with the flowers, the smile on her face, and the wind in her hair. It just makes me sigh and think about how much fun it is to be in love!
Congratulations, Sarah and Chris! I can’t wait to show you the rest!
