We are excited to share with you a neat inspiration for your next baby shower! It’s time to think green, eco-friendly, and baby! Instead of using plastic utensils and paper napkins, consider re-usable utensils wrapped in baby wash cloths. The bonus? The momma-to-be can keep the wash cloths and use them with baby. We love ideas that double as a gift and a green alternative!
What do you serve to drink at a green baby shower? Green punch, of course! Try an easy recipe of sprite + lime sherbet, accented with green sliced limes. You could even use lemons for a little punch of yellow.
Another idea, ready to double as a gift for the expectant parents, is a thumbprint tree.
If you look closely, the date and names are drawn into the grass on this design! And yep, this custom tree was designed by one of the Simply Southern Photography artists on staff – contact us today to order your thumbprint tree for your next shower or event. They make great wedding guest books as well as shower gifts!
Each guest places a thumbprint (use shades of green to keep with the theme, or spice it up with colors of your choice!) and signs by their print. It’s a guest book that no one will put in a drawer – and will look so cute on baby’s nursery wall!
It was a sweet surprise for mom!
The centerpieces for the shower were, of course, green and living – more gifts for the guests and the mom-to-be! I love the idea of mom being able to plant the eco-friendly centerpieces outside baby’s window and watch them grow over the years.
For this house, Duke is always #1, and so a centerpiece of baby bottles featuring some of their favorite things was just perfect. They’re glass bottles that can be used when baby comes, and are filled with jelly beans (a sure fix for midnight cravings of sugar for mom!).
And last, but not least, the favors for this green baby shower were a gift to the attendees. A little baby bulb nestled in a peat bed with a compostable planter, and wrapped in old t-shirts to look like baby diapers!
