What a busy year it’s been for so many of us! We are catching up on blogging some of our favorite sessions this year, and I wanted to start by sharing this sweet family. The L family has been coming to me since their oldest was born, and I am loving every minute of it. I’ve learned their love for all things rustic goes perfectly with my love…for all things rustic!
When they showed up at Old Salem Museum and Gardens with this incredible antique truck, which had just been fully restored, I actually gasped. I was so excited, and couldn’t wait to use it in their images. I was hoping their dad said it was a go…
And, yep, he did! We had the exact same thoughts – to use the truck as a family portrait anchor, but also to get some sweet father-son images in the cab.
These images bring back my own childhood memories of driving down the dirt roads of our family farm with my father, hair in the wind and firmly planted on his lap. I love the feeling of “When Daddy Let Me Drive (thank you Alan Jackson!)” that comes from these images.
It’s hard to top memories like these with your parents!
Their little ones had a great time playing in the bed of the truck – from peekaboo to a dance party, toddler style!
We have more sneak peeks to come from this incredible session – including Minions! – but, for now, I’ll leave you with this last sweet family photo in the back of the truck.
